The Indian Muslims bitterly resented the policy of the British Government in the Middle East where the Turkish Empire had been dismembered and where the new states so formed as well as other Muslim states were being used as pawns on the political chessboard . मध्य पूर्व में ब्रिटिश सरकार की नीतियों का भारतीय मुसलमानों ने कड़ाई से विरोध किया , जहां तुर्की साम्राज़्य की सदस्यता समाप्त कर दी गयी थी , और जहां इस तरह से गठित नये राज़्य तथा अन्य मुस्लिम राज़्य राजनैतिक चेस-बोर्ड पर प्यादे से समान उपयोग में लाये जा रहे थे .
